So what is contents restoration?

Content restoration is the process of restoring damaged items from fire, smoke, water, mould, or wind to pre-damage condition.  It involves cleaning, restoration, sanitization and deodorizing the items to be cleaned to allow them to be returned to normal use.

What is the process followed?

To undertake a successful content restoration exercise, we undertake the following steps.

INSPECTION

Initially, we inspect the items that are to be restored separately items that are completely damaged beyond restoration from the rest.  This ensures that we only work on items that can be returned in an excellent condition.

THE PACK OUT

Removing damaged items require extra care not to further weaken them.  In addition, one needs to know where items removed should be returned and placed.  In packing out items, we take particular care of where items are taken from and packed and labelled accordingly to ensure that we can return the items to their appropriate location.  Where needed, pictures as used to assist in the pack out process.

CLEANING PROCESS

When it is time to clean items, we carefully inspect the items and determine the best method to clean and sanitize them.  Depending on whether we are cleaning hard or soft contents, different approaches are used.

For hard contents such as plates, jewellery, we used automated machines and a deodorizer for smoke odour.  Items that can not be cleaned by the automated machines would be hand cleaned using environmentally friendly degreaser and odour counteractants.

Soft content items are also washed in automated machines that can restore even dry clean only items.  In a special washing machine, the final rinse is carried out.

At the end of the cleaning process, the items were kept in the ozone room for deodorization in our drying room where the humidity and temperature are carefully monitored.

Once completely, items are items are repacked in preparation for their return.

THE PACK BACK

After restoration, we repack items and prepare them for delivery. Once in your home or business, our technicians will carefully unpack items and try to return them to their original place or room. Should your home not be ready for contents to be returned, we can provide a temporal storage until you are ready.
